UK ROAD LEGAL — DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
JK PLATES LTD is a DVLA-registered number plate supplier. Our Hex Number Plates are manufactured to BS AU 145e and require proof of identity and entitlement.
For road legal number plates, we need to verify your identity and entitlement to the registration number before supplying your plates.
You must provide one document from each list below. The documents must allow us to confirm your name, address and entitlement.
Proof of Identity
- Driving licence, with or without a photo, whether or not issued in the UK
- Electricity, gas or water bill, landline phone bill, council tax bill or rates bill in Northern Ireland — issued within the last 6 months
- Bank or building society statement — issued within the last 6 months
- Passport, whether or not issued in the UK
- National identity card issued by the government of a state or territory other than the UK
- Debit or credit card issued by a bank or building society
- Police warrant card
- Armed forces identity card
Proof of Entitlement
- Registration Certificate (V5C)
- New Keeper Slip (green slip)
- Certificate of Entitlement (V750)
- Retention Document (V778)
- Reminder to get vehicle tax or make a SORN (V11)
- Temporary Registration Certificate (V379)
- Number Plate Authorisation Certificate (V948 or eV948) or Trailer Number Plate Authorisation Certificate (eV948/2) with a DVLA stamp
- Letter of authorisation from a lease or hire company, including a fleet operator, quoting the V5C document reference number
- PDF of the vehicle details from the View Vehicle Record (VVR) service from a lease or hire company, including fleet operators, quoting the V5C document reference number where the original V5C has been suppressed
- Record of the insurer’s name, reference and policy numbers, for repairs approved by an insurance company
- Trailer Registration Certificate (VTRC)
