These Terms and Conditions apply to all products purchased from JK Plates, including standard number plates, 2D plates, 3D gel plates, 4D plates, custom plates and show/display plates.
By placing an order with JK Plates, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
1. About JK Plates
JK Plates supplies number plates and related products to customers in the United Kingdom.
Where a plate is intended for use on a public road, it will only be supplied where the customer has provided the required identification and entitlement documentation and the plate can legally be produced.
JK Plates reserves the right to refuse an order where the required documentation has not been provided, cannot be verified, or where we reasonably believe the requested plate would not comply with applicable requirements.
2. Road-legal number plates
Road-legal plates are manufactured using appropriate compliant materials and specifications.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate information when placing an order, including the registration number, plate size and any other requested details.
JK Plates cannot be held responsible for errors supplied or approved by the customer, such as an incorrect registration, spelling or plate specification.
However, this does not affect your statutory rights where a product is faulty or does not conform to the contract.
3. Customer documentation
For road-legal plates, customers must provide the appropriate documentation required to establish their identity and entitlement to the registration.
JK Plates may request original documents or the relevant information from those documents before producing a plate.
We will maintain the records required of a registered number plate supplier.
4. Custom and personalised plates
Many JK Plates products are made specifically to the customer's requirements.
This can include:
- A specific registration
- Specific plate size
- 2D/3D/4D specification
- Custom colours
- Custom finishes
- Show/display designs
- Other personalised specifications
Customers are responsible for checking all details before production begins.
Once production of a personalised order has started, cancellation may not be possible where the law permits an exemption for personalised or bespoke goods.
This does not affect your statutory rights if the product is faulty, misdescribed or otherwise does not meet the requirements of the law.
5. Show and display plates
Show/display plates are intended for display, photographic, promotional, private-property or off-road use only, unless they independently comply with all applicable requirements for use on public roads.
JK Plates will clearly identify products that are not suitable for road use.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that they do not use a show/display plate on a vehicle on a public road where it does not comply with the applicable legal requirements.
6. Prices and payment
All prices will be displayed at the time of ordering.
Payment must be received before production begins unless otherwise agreed by JK Plates.
JK Plates reserves the right to amend prices before an order is placed.
Once an order has been accepted and payment received, the agreed price will not be changed without the customer's agreement.
7. Production
Production times will vary depending on the product ordered, stock availability and the level of customisation required.
Any estimated production or delivery date provided by JK Plates is an estimate unless a specific date has been agreed.
If there is an unexpected delay, we will contact the customer as soon as reasonably possible.
8. Delivery
Customers are responsible for providing an accurate delivery address.
JK Plates cannot accept responsibility for delays caused by the delivery company after an order has been dispatched, although we will assist customers in resolving delivery issues.
If an item is lost or damaged during delivery, please contact us as soon as possible.
9. Plate checking
Customers should check their plates as soon as they receive them and before fitting them to their vehicle.
If you believe your order is incorrect or faulty, please contact us with your order number and photographs where appropriate.
10. Intellectual property
The JK Plates name, logo, branding, photographs, website content and original designs remain the property of JK Plates unless otherwise stated.
They may not be copied, reproduced or used commercially without permission.
11. Privacy
Customer information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable UK data-protection legislation.
Information required for legal number-plate records will be retained for the period required by the applicable regulations.
12. Changes to these terms
JK Plates may update these Terms and Conditions where necessary.
The terms applying to an order will be those in place when the order was accepted, unless a change is required by law.
